Abdulkadir Kure University, a distinguished, renowned, and the first green institution in Niger State, and in Nigeria as a whole to incorporate environment, low carbon-climate resilience development strategies, and sustainability aspects in our education. Abdulkadir Kure University is a Niger State Government owned university named after an illustrious son of Niger State, a former Governor between 1999-2007, Engr. Abdulkadir Kure. It was established by Farmer Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, of Niger state in 2023 initially as a university of education and later converted to a full fledged conventional university. The pioneer Pro Chancellor is Prof Mohammed Kuta Yahaya and the VC is Prof. Mohammed Aliyu Paiko.

We have a rich history rooted in the visionary leadership of Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago. Named after the esteemed Engr Abdulkadir Kure, a former Governor of Niger State (1999–2007), this state-owned university was established in 2023. Initially conceived as a specialized university focusing on education, Abdulkadir Kure University underwent a transformative journey under the strategic direction of Governor Bago. Recognizing the evolving needs of higher education, the university was later converted into a full-fledged conventional institution, broadening its academic scope and contributing significantly to the intellectual and scape of the region.
